The West Central Valley School Board met in regular session Wednesday.

The meeting began with the Board approving milk and bread bids from Anderson Erickson Dairy and Bimbo Bakery, respectively. Next, the Board approved purchasing three brass sousaphones for the music department, and a bid of $18,225 for a high school water heater replacement from Miller Plumbing, Heating, and Electric. The Board then approved a property casualty insurance renewal with EMC Insurance and a student accident insurance program through Jester Insurance.

Technology purchases of a phone installation and voicemail upgrade at Dexter Elementary and the high school, and 200 Chromebooks for grades kindergarten through fifth at an approximate cost of $67,000 were approved. A furniture purchase of about $98,000 was approved for both elementary buildings, with the possibility of additional spending. Finally, the Board approved resolutions to adopt the “Return to Play” protocol and the school safety plan, and approved personnel sharing agreements for Business Manager Symantha Crawford and Middle School Art Teacher Lindsay VanZee.
