Peace, music, and love are just a few words that could describe Redfield’s annual Old Settler’s Celebration happening this weekend.

The three-day festival is paying homage to the 50th anniversary of another popular festival with the theme “Return of Woodstock” and there will be attractions for all ages including favorites like the human foosball tournament and $5 Buck Duck Race. Old Settler’s Committee President Teia Madren says this is the third year for the race fundraiser, “You will purchase a duck for $5 and we will give you your number. At 3 o’clock on Saturday afternoon we launch the ducks off of the Redfield dam, they race down to Hanging Rock, is the end of the race, and we have first, second, and third place winners.”

Fifty-percent of the race proceeds go back to the celebration, with the top finishers winning the rest of the funds. Madren recalls last year the first place winner received $500. The festival will also include a free car and bike show hosted by the Dairy Shoppe, an International Chili Association Cook-Off, and much more.
