After extensive work to repair flood-damaged areas and make electrical improvements, the Guthrie County Conservation Department is happy to announce the campgrounds at Nations Bridge Park are fully open for the summer.
Conservation Director Joe Hanner says they have three out of four phases of their approximate $77,000 electrical upgrade project completed, with plans for contractor Knowlton Electric, Incorporated to finish in the fall. Due to March’s flood Hanner says he was afraid they wouldn’t get the campgrounds completely reopened until Labor Day if it weren’t for the diligent work of his staff, “I really, really want to give a shoutout to our Guthrie County Conservation Board staff. We have a small staff and they worked really, really hard as a team and I really want to acknowledge our Maintenance Technician Ted Scheuermann. Ted just does outstanding work all the time but he was excellent on the flood repair and working on the electrical project a little bit.”
Visitors can stay at Nations Bridge Park on a first come, first served basis, with the cost of $15 per night with electricity and $10 without.
