The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.
The first action item on the agenda was approval of payroll change notices. The Board agreed to receive and file several notices from commissions they have no direct say over, but elected to hold off on approving any of their own. The Supervisors wanted to spend more time considering a series of exemptions to the County’s pay plan rules, so they will take the notices up at next week’s meeting. Following that, the Board received a presentation from representatives of the Iowa State Association of Counties regarding the most recent legislative session. One ISAC representative mentioned he had spent much of the session “playing defense” to protect the interests of the counties.
Next, the Board set July 2nd at 9:30 a.m. as the date and time for a public hearing on temporary construction easements on the Raccoon River Valley Trail for Stratford Crossing. The Supervisors then approved a professional services agreement with RBM Consultants for tabulation equipment and support services for the Auditor’s Office elections department. Finally, the Board got an update from AECOM on the Auditor’s parking lot project, which is estimated to be completed within the next three weeks.
The meeting concluded with County employee performance reviews including for the Finance and Operations Director, Board Administrative Assistant, Central Point of Coordination (CPC) Administrator, Human Resources Director, Information Technology Director, Planning and Development Director, Emergency Medical Services Director, and County Engineer.
