Friday was a busy day for the Perry Chamber of Commerce, as they held their monthly networking event and also volunteered to help a member.
The day began with the Chamber Coffee, which this month was held at Hamlin-Bell Senior Apartments. Property Manager Brenda Martinez welcomed attendees and talked about Newbury Living’s two housing options in Perry, with the other being the Willis Avenue Apartments. She then answered questions from attendees, followed by the group going around the room to introduce themselves and talk about upcoming events or projects they’re working on. Chamber Coffees are held the second Friday of every month.
The second activity took place at the first of two Habitat for Humanity homes being built in Perry this year. Several Chamber Board members, Ambassadors, and partners worked from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., helping with painting and flooring installation. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti felt it was important for the Chamber to show their support for one of their nonprofit members, while also helping to foster growth in the City’s housing market. Habitat Coordinator Omar Padilla was grateful for the help during the day, and he’s hopeful the first house will be done soon so they can move onto the second.
