The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
The Board reviewed the master matrix score for a hog confinement expansion for Alex Alliger in Section 3 of Dawson Township. The score was 450 points, which is ten above the minimum required by the matrix to be eligible for approval by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. A site inspection by DNR officials is scheduled for June 19th, with the public hearing to take place at 9am on June 24th.
The Board also approved using the county seal on election ballots due to a legislative change, they also approved changes made to the Business Property Tax Credit parcels for the 2018 valuations, a cigarette permit for the Paton Pit Stop, and an agreement with Carroll County Ambulance for Greene County Ambulance to provide mutual aid. Additionally, the Board approved amending the county’s purchasing and procurement policy for federal grant applications, as well as the County Recorder’s report of fees for May of $21,795, the County Treasurer’s investment report for May of $6.5 million and issuing 281 driver’s licenses last month.
The Board also heard an update from Jefferson City Administrator Mike Palmer. He gave an update on the downtown buildings the City owns, as well as the bond issuance that the City Council will consider approving.
