A big crowd showed up at La Poste in Perry on Thursday evening to take part in the third and final Perry Sesquicentennial Trivia Contest.

The event was a fundraiser for the City’s 150th birthday celebration, and six teams took part on this occasion. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Chris Cohea served as the master of ceremonies, and the categories were all Perry-related. Themes for the categories ranged from the Willis Boulevard sculptures to historic bars and grocery stores, and there was even one on the Perry Centennial Celebration in 1969. There were eight rounds and five questions per round, and the competition was close throughout.

In the end, it was a group called PADdies that netted the high score of 36 out of 40 possible points, winning each member of the team both bragging rights and a commemorative challenge coin. All proceeds from the event will support the Sesquicentennial Celebration, which is less than a month away, from July 5th through 7th.
