It took a couple of weeks for the Baseball and Softball teams at West Central Valley to get going, but Nick Weinmeister and Taryn Fell seem to have righted the ship and pointed their teams in the right direction.
On Monday, the WCV Softball team picked up a win at home in Stuart when Madrid made the trip. Offensively, the Lady Wildcats have struggled so far this season, but WCV was able to muster up enough base runners to put up 2 runs on Madrid, while the pitching held the Tigers to just 1 run for the game.
One night later, on Tuesday, first year Head Coach, Nick Weinmeister and his team came out firing on all cylinders when they faced cross-county rival, Adair-Casey-Guthrie Center in Stuart. Senior, Cole Arnburg, started on the mound for the Wildcats and pitched six full innings, allowing just one hit to the Chargers, and striking out 15 of the 19 batters he faced. WCV mercy-ruled AC/GC in 6 innings of play, 10-0.
WCV Baseball and Softball are both off for the weekend, and will be back in action in Panora on Monday to face the Panorama Panthers.
