
The West Central Valley Girls’ Soccer team ended its season in defeat on Friday with a 3-0 loss at Des Moines Christian.
The Wildcats were playing in the Class 1A Region 3 bracket along with Clarke of Osceola, Chariton, Des Moines Christian, North Polk, Creston, and Grandview Christian.
West Central Valley opened Region 3 Quarterfinal action with a 9-0 win at home versus Clarke of Osceola, before advancing on to the Semifinal game at Des Moines Christian, where the season ended.
The other WCAC team playing in Region 3, Panorama also fell in the Semifinals round at North Polk 4-0.
North Polk and Des Moines Christian met in the Region 3 Champsionship game on Monday night, with the winner advancing on to the Girls’ State Soccer Tournament, and beginning tomorrow in Des Moines.
West Central Valley Girls’ Soccer shares its program with Nodaway Valley High School from Greenfield, and AC/GC High School from Guthrie Center. The 2019 team showed great improvement in comparison to the WCV Girls’ Soccer squad from just year ago, as WCV finished with a plus .500 record for the 2019 season at 9-7.
