Don’t forget, today in Adel the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is hosting their 11th annual All Wheel Show.
Sheriff Chad Leonard promises that all manner of vehicles will surround the Dallas County Courthouse, as they welcome anything on wheels to the show. All proceeds from the entries will benefit the Special Olympics, and several athletes will be in attendance to help with the festivities. Leonard says many people have registered their vehicles ahead of time, but anyone who wants to take part can still register at the square. The cost for one entry is $20, and any subsequent entries are $10. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and will run through 1 p.m. At that time, the vehicles will be judged, and awards will be presented at 2:30. Honors include: Best of Show; Special Olympics Choice; Most Likely to be Stopped by a Cop; Bad Bike; Long Distance; and awards for the top 20 entries.
There is no cost for the public to attend the All Wheel Show. Concessions will be provided by the Adel Fire Department, with funds from food sales benefiting the Adel Firefighters Association. The Raccoon Valley Radio Little Big Red Radio once again counts itself among the vehicles at the show, though it is the only one broadcasting live throughout the day. We’ll also play music and provide public address services for the event.
