A reminder that the 10th annual Greene County Impact Award ceremony will be held tomorrow.
Jerry Roberts of Jefferson is this year’s recipient and the ceremony will take place in the Greene County Courthouse rotunda at 3pm. Roberts has served in a variety of volunteer capacities with the Jefferson Public Library, the Jefferson Elks Lodge, the Greene County Historical Society and on the Genesis Development Board. He was even one of the founding members of the Impact Award, which is given to someone whose activities have had a recognized impact on county residents.
The free event includes last year’s award winners Chuck and Carla Offenburger as the emcees, along with speakers from the library, historical society, the Elks and the County Board of Supervisors. There will also be a performance from Nicole Freiss-Schilling, who had a starring role in the musical “Eva,” which Roberts wrote and directed for the historical society.
Tomorrow’s event is free and open to the public with refreshments to be served.
