With the Perry boys soccer team coming up just short in a bid to return to state, the torch gets passed to Gilmar Guerra’s Jayette squad Monday night in ensuring that Perry will have a team at the state soccer tournament. The Jayettes will travel to ADM Monday night for a substate final with the winner advancing to the state tournament at Cownie Soccer Complex. The Jayettes survived a scare from Collins Maxwell Wednesday night 4-2. Natalie Martinez stepped up finishing with a hat trick to power Perry into a rematch with ADM. The Tigers have been Perry’s nemesis the past couple of years. Last season, the Jayettes fell to ADM 2-1 in the regional final. Earlier this season, ADM shutdown Perry 4-0 during the regular season battle. Kickoff Monday night will be at 6:00.
