Tyler Olson of Webster City tossed seven innings of no-hit baseball on Wednesday night in Jefferson against Greene County in a 3-0 victory for the Lynx. WC improved to 2-1 while the Rams fell to 2-2. The right handed sophomore allowed one base runner, on a throwing error by the catcher. He struck eight Rams out and out dueled Ram senior Austin Delp, who was very sharp himself. Delp allowed five hits, all singles, one earned run, and walked one batter while recording seven strikeouts.
The Lynx scored an earned run in the fifth on two singles, and a SAC bunt. CJ Hisler drove in the run. WC scored two unearned seventh inning runs with runners on second and third and a wild pitch scored both runners.
Last night’s game was broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com, as will tonight’s non-conference contest with Ballard (Huxley) at Allensworth Field in Jefferson. Game time is around 7:30 p.m.
