The inclement weather Tuesday gave the ACGC softball and baseball teams an extra two days of rest. The Chargers look to resume play tonight as they head to Earlham for a WCAC doubleheader with the Cardinals.

The softball squad is still winless against the Cardinals in four meetings. The gold and black were shut out in both games last year, falling by a combined margin of 25 runs. Seniors Sierra O’Brien and Genevieve Hoover are the only active Chargers to score a run against Earlham, doing so in 2017.

Head coach Tim O’Brien knows it will take a complete effort to defeat the Cardinals. “They’re loaded again. They brought their pitcher and catchers back. On top of that, they’re (a) great ball-hitting team. So you got to play great defense. So you have to just put it all together with them. I feel confident going in with the team we have.”

Both teams enter the doubleheader with a record of 3-1 and could lead the conference standings by the end of the evening. You can hear game one of the doubleheader live on KKRF2 and RaccoonValleyRadio.com. Pregame coverage begins around 5 with the first pitch set for 5:30 from Earlham High School.
