
This Friday and Saturday, the City of Woodward is hosting their annual Friends and Neighbors celebration, with lots of activities to take part in.
The festivities begin Friday at 5 p.m. with the Christian Church beef burger supper, followed by the golf cart parade and poker run at 5:30. At 6 the beer garden will open at the fire station, and the GaGa Ball tournament will kick off at McColl’s Park. The Little Mr. and Miss Woodward competition will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the winners serving as the Grand Marshalls for Saturday’s parade. Friday night will wrap up with the band TOAST3R performing from 7-11 p.m. at the fire station, and a showing of “The Lego Movie 2” at McColl’s Park from 8-10.
The event will continue Saturday morning at 7 a.m. with breakfast at the social center, and the parade along Main Street will begin at 11. There will then be a wide assortment of activities the rest of the day, including: a petting zoo; the Lion’s Club lunch; a pie auction; a game truck; inflatables; live music by Breaking Ground and Skinny Logan; a dunk tank; and a bags tournament. The evening will wrap up with a fireworks show and hayrack ride. Additionally, there will be a raffle held throughout the day, with $10 and $1 tickets and different prizes associated with each.
