Carroll and Webster City were high school softball winners against Greene County on Saturday at the Ogden Tournament. Coach Tom Kennedy’s team dropped to 0-3 on the season. They’ll next play on Tuesday in Jefferson vs. Coon Rapids-Bayard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with coverage around 7 p.m.

The Rams and Tigers were tied 3-3 before Carroll went on to a 7-3 victory. Jenna Beyers took the pitching loss. She went all seven innings, allowing five earned runs on five hits and four walks. She fanned four batters. The Rams had seven hits including two from Beyers. One of those was a two-run homer. Megan Carey had two hits and one run batted in. Emma Hoye and Olivia Shannon each doubled, and Izzy Bravard added a single.

Beyers and Carey missed game two because they graduated from Paton-Churdan High School Saturday afternoon. The Rams lost to Webster City 11-1 in five innings by the 10-run rule. Hoyle took the pitching loss after allowing 11 earned runs on 15 hits and two walks. She had four strikeouts. Greene County managed just three hits against the Lynx, and all were singles. Bravard, Tieryn Tucker, and Kyla Beyers had the Greene County hits, and Beyers had the RBI.
