Two Casey groups will be holding a fundraiser event educating people on the City’s past residents today.
The Casey Historical Society and Oakwood Cemetery Association are hosting their first-ever “Oakwood Cemetery Stroll” from 3:30-5 p.m. Ten actors will portray notable Casey residents who were buried at the cemetery, with some of the volunteers being descendents of the historical leaders. Tickets for the event are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under and can be purchased at the door. Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs and meet at the Casey Community Building at about 3:15 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held at the community building. Proceeds will go to the cemetery association and the historical society.
