There is a chance of possible severe weather for portions of the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area for today.
The National Weather Service has the majority of Dallas and Guthrie counties under a slight risk, while Greene County is under a marginal risk for severe weather today. The main threats with these risks are high winds, large hail and a low risk for isolated tornadoes. The time period for severe weather is late this afternoon into the evening hours.
With additional rainfall expected, the National Weather Service has Greene and Dallas counties under a river flood warning until Thursday. According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rivergages website, the North Raccoon River near Perry is just below flood stage of 15-feet. The one to count on for severe weather coverage is the Raccoon Valley Radio Network.
