After about four years of work a Guthrie County building has been added to the National Register of Historic Places.
Yale City Council Member Brandon Godwin was one of Yale’s residents who led the charge to get the Yale Round Gymnasium added to the register by the United States Department of the Interior, which involved interviews, submitted photos and memorabilia, and community support. The gym was built in 1932 for the former Yale High School and was the first building of its kind in the state. Godwin now seeks grant funding to help renovate the building.
