The Perry Class of 2019 wrapped up classes last week, and this weekend they will officially be done with their high school careers.

The commencement ceremony is Sunday, starting at 2 p.m. in the Perry High School gymnasium, and the 133 students in the graduating class will be celebrated by their family, friends, and community members. Superintendent Clark Wicks will get the ceremony started, and Student Council President Mario Cruz and Senior Class President Jamileth Sarceno will give speeches. There is no cost to attend commencement, though high school staff recommends attendees arrive early to ensure they get a good seat.

The rehearsal for the ceremony will be today at 8 a.m., followed immediately by the traditional Grad Walk through Perry Elementary. The seniors will greet the younger students and wish them well on their journey through grade school. As a reminder, the remainder of students in the Perry School District will have classes running through Thursday, June 6th, as a result of the days missed due to weather during the year.
