Parts of the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area continue to see a decline in unemployment.

According to Iowa Workforce Development, Guthrie County saw the largest drop in unemployment from March to April of 1.3-percent to 2.5-percent. Dallas County had a 0.3-percent decrease in the percentage of those without a job from March to April to 1.5-percent. Greene County remained the same at 2.2-percent. All three counties are doing better than at this point last year. In April of 2018, Guthrie County was at 2.6-percent, Greene County was at 2.4-percent and Dallas County was at 1.6-percent.

Statewide, the unemployment rate for April stayed the same compared to March at 2.4-percent. The national unemployment rate for April was 3.6-percent.
