The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.

The meeting began with the Board signing the 28E agreements for the Transfer Station with the cities of Adair, Bagley, Bayard, Guthrie Center, Jamaica, Panora, and Yale. The Board had approved the agreements earlier this spring, which makes a $20 quarterly per capita fee for residents, an update from what was established about 20 years ago. The new fee will take effect July 1st.

Next, the Board received an update from County Engineer Josh Sebern. He said due to the late winter snowmelt and recent rainfall the county roads have lost so much material that it will take years to rebuild. Sheriff Marty Arganbright said some of the roads are impassable, “Josh has been doing a good job hitting the bad spots that have to have material put on them, because you can’t get through them and cars bottom out and I hear about it a lot so.”

Sebern added there is a road closure on F25 east of Yale for emergency patching on a bridge over Mosquito Creek. Finally, the Board approved a Roth contribution amendment to the deferred compensation plan for public employees, and set a public hearing on June 4th for an Iowa Department of Natural Resources construction permit for Rose Acre Farms.
