The 2019 Greene County High School graduating class had their senior awards night Tuesday evening at the high school auditorium.
About 83 scholarships and awards were given to students. Also being recognized was the three valedictorians and the salutatorian. There were over $278,000 in scholarships awarded in just the communities in Greene County. High School Counselor Ruth Broman says the new scholarships and awards this year were Seal of Biliteracy, Future Cyclone Leader, Greene County Foundational Scholarship. She adds the higher amounts of scholarships that were awarded included: Betty Jo Callaway, Earl Wilson, Ernest Prehm, Greene County School Foundation Anonymous, Jefferson Telephone Company. The Class of 2019 valedictorians are Linsey Kitt, Emma Schroeder and Claire Teusch and the salutatorian is Arthur Bardole.
The commencement ceremony is this weekend and High School Principal Brian Phillips invites everyone to attend.
“I’m really excited about graduation on May 26th at our middle school gym at 2 o’clock (pm). Got a great bunch of seniors that are ready to graduate and go out and conquer the world so to speak. I wish them nothing but the best in doing so.”
