The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.
The meeting began with discussion on the proposed health plan renewal with representatives from Holmes-Murphy. No action was taken, as the Board wanted more time to review the changes. Following that the Supervisors set June 4th at 10 a.m. as the date and time for a public hearing regarding a utility crossing easement on the Raccoon River Valley Trail for James Pointe. Next, the Board approved a resolution establishing the official Dallas County seal as previously presented, and appointed Brandon Peters from Linden to serve on the Lincoln Township Board of Trustees through 2022.
They then considered two change orders from Trinity Construction for the courthouse renovation project. The first was for $3,691.60 for door and outlet installations, which was approved with a 2-1 vote. Supervisor Kim Chapman said he felt the cost for labor on the door aspect was higher than it needed to be. The second was for $7,520.70 for an LED lighting upgrade, which was unanimously approved. Finally, the Board held a workshop with the Human Resources Department, where they discussed and approved cost of living increases. The meeting concluded with discussion on evaluating and prioritizing future funding requests.
