The West Central Valley Wildcats Baseball and Softball programs will both be back on the field today with games on the road in Ogden.
The Wildcats Baseball team is coming off season in 2018 that saw West Central Valley fall just short of the .500 mark. The WCV Baseball squad finished with a 12-15 record last year, when their season ended in the second week of July with a District Postseason game at Carroll Kuemper Catholic. The Wildcats couldn’t slow down the hot bats of Kuemper and the game ended 10-3 in favor of Carroll Kuemper.
The Wildcats Softball team struggled the entire season in 2018. West Central Valley was only able to muster up five wins last season in their 29 games played. The West Central Valley Softball team had the hitting power, but lacked the pitching strength to compete in most games. WCV scored 20 runs in a win over Orient-Macksburg, but also allowed 20 runs just a few weeks later in a loss to Martensdale-St Marys.
Softball action will get underway at 5:30, and Baseball action will begin one hour later at 6:30 with both games on the road in Ogden tonight.
