The Perry Police Department warns citizens of a scam involving someone claiming to be outgoing St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Priest Chris Reising.

The department has received reports that an unknown person has been contacting people by text message, claiming to be Father Reising. The individual has been asking for gift cards to assist persons that are ill or in need. They then instruct the victims to purchase a gift card and text the number and codes back. The Perry Police have determined this is a scam, and they advise people to not respond to any messages such as this. Instead, you are to contact the police department or St. Pat’s Church right away.
