city-of-perry-2

A reminder: the next meeting of the 100+ People for Perry is Monday evening, and the group is always looking for new members.

The event will be held at La Poste, with a social time at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting starting at 7. Members of the group will present three randomly-selected projects for everyone’s consideration, and those in attendance will vote on which to support. Each member will then donate $100 to the chosen nonprofit organization. The leaders of the group remind attendees to bring any project suggestions they may have so there will be plenty to choose from.

The goal of 100+ People for Perry is to invest in the City’s future and enhance the quality of life for residents. The group makes four large donations a year, each of which fund a project within the Perry community. To date, they have pledged $88,300 to 13 different projects, including to the Perry Alano Club at their first meeting of this year. Anyone interested in joining is encouraged to reach out to organizers Mark Powell at 515-465-4641 or mpowel@fdplawfirm.com, Tom Lipovac at Tom.Lipovac@perry.k12.ia.us, or Linda Kaufman at kaufmanlinda1948@gmail.com. Any members that can’t attend Monday’s meeting can drop off their check at the Finneseth, Dalen, and Powell Law Firm.
