Early voting is now open for the special election on a $15.75 million bond referendum for the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District.
Residents in the three communities are being asked to decide whether to fund construction of a new elementary building in Adel. The school would house grades 2-4 and is the first step the District is taking towards addressing their rapidly growing enrollment. Voting for the special election is open to any residents who live within the ADM boundaries who are 18-years or older by June 25th. Voting is limited only to those living inside the District including those who open enroll out.
The methods for voting include early in-person, absentee, or in-person on Tuesday, June 25th. Early in-person voting can be done from now until Monday, June 24th at the Dallas County Auditor’s Office located at 210 North 10th Street in Adel. The public is reminded that due to construction on the parking lot, entrance into the building is to be done on the south side through the alley. Absentee ballots can be requested and returned by mail, picked up at the Auditor’s Office, or requested online by clicking the link below. Finally, the polls will be open on Election Day from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m., with Adel residents voting at the public library, and DeSoto and Minburn residents voting at their city’s respective United Methodist Church.
Voters are reminded to bring photo identification to the polls in order to vote.
