On Tuesday, the ADM Softball team traveled to Waukee for a preseason scrimmage with the Warriors. ADM is coming off of a second place, runner-up finish in the 2018 State Softball Tournament in Fort Dodge.
The Tigers are bringing a young team to the field this summer, as one lone Senior will lead ADM on the softball diamond. Earlier this week, we sat down with Senior, Emily Hatchitt, and chatted with her about her goals for the team this season.
Hatchitt mentioned that the ultimate team goal would be to return to the State Tournament in 2019 and win in all, but mentioned smaller goals such as winning conference, building chemistry and adjusting to their new Head Coach, Jodi Doty, and most importantly having fun.
This softball season, Hatchitt will put on the ADM uniform for the final time, as she’s also competed as a Tiger in track, and basketball, as well as participated in Student Council, Math Club, and Journalism.
Hatchitt and the rest of the ADM Softball team will take the field for the first time, officially, this season on Monday at Saydel.
