The Guthrie Center City Council met in regular session Monday.

The meeting began with a public hearing for the fiscal year 2019 budget amendment. No comments were made and the Council approved the amendment. Next, the Council approved raising the hourly rate for summer mowing employees Kolby Jacobe and Devon Oberholtz by $1.25 to $10. The Council then approved spending up to $800 for 100-watt LED lights for the tennis court, and they approved a 28E agreement with the Guthrie County Treasurer’s Office. This agreement stipulates that the Treasurer’s Office will put a hold on residents’ vehicle registrations if they have unpaid parking tickets from the City. Finally, the Council approved including the fire department’s phone paging system in the fiscal year 2020 budget, approved fence permits for Troy Michaels and Virgil Andresen, and set May 30th as the date for the next regular meeting.
