Tuesday, May 14th

9:03am: An officer assisted the Juvenile Court Officer in gathering a Urine Analysis Collection Kit from a juvenile at the courthouse.

3:37pm: An officer investigated a Two Vehicle Property Damage Accident in the 200 Block of West Clark Street. A 1997 Ford F150, owned and operated by Jeanine Eggert of Grand Junction, had stopped at the posted stop sign at Elm Street in the 200 Block of West Clark Street. As Eggert waited to enter onto Elm Street, her vehicle was struck from the rear. The 2015 Chevrolet K2500 was owned by Wild Rose Leasing Co. of West Des Moines and being operated by James Ball of Jefferson. Ball had pulled onto Clark Street from the Bomgaars drive when he struck the rear of the Eggert vehicle. Eggert’s vehicle suffered a reported $500.00 in

damages to the rear. The Wild Rose vehicle had a reported $1000.00 in front end damages. Ball was cited for, “Fail to Stop in Assured Clear Distance Ahead.”

4:24pm: The Jefferson Post Office requested officers to assist a juvenile, whose bookbag had been thrown on a rooftop at 119 West Lincoln Way Street. The officers used a ladder from the Post Office to climb on the roof to retrieve the bag for the youngster.

4:53pm: Mike Bierl spoke with an officer about a vehicle being parked in the 100 Block of East Lincoln Way Street for a couple of days. His friend had failed a driver’s license test and could not drive the vehicle home from the failed test. He advised it will be removed asap.

7:20pm: Ramona Matthews reported a Speeding Vehicle approaching Jefferson from the south on Hwy. 4. The officer did not locate the vehicle.
