The Adel City Council will convene tonight in regular session.
The meeting will begin with a presentation by Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Superintendent Greg Dufoe on the District’s upcoming bond referendum vote, followed by a proclamation of National Mental Health Month. The Council will then hold several public hearings, starting with the consideration of bids received for the City Hall window replacement project and the water treatment plant project. There will then be a hearing regarding a moratorium on pole, pylon, and monument signs, followed by a hearing on the fiscal year 2018-19 budget amendment. The final public hearing will be on a rezoning request for the Southbridge Urban Renewal Area from A-1 (agricultural) to R-1 (residential – high density).
Following the hearings, the Council will consider resolutions approving each of the items. Other items on the agenda include: the first reading of an amendment to the snow emergency ordinance; approval of budget transfers for the current fiscal year; and a change order and pay estimate for the Bryan and Rapids Street water main replacement. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. tonight in the Council chambers at Adel City Hall.
