
Thursday, May 9th
9:25am: Congregate Meals reported a Stray dog in the 400 Block of Greenewood Road.
2:38pm: A Traffic Stop in the 200 Block of Central Avenue resulted in Jerimiah Geisler of Scranton being cited for, “Defective Muffler System.”
4:05pm: Wilma Willet reported a broken window in the complex at 1216 Westwood Drive. The owner of the property was contacted.
5:09pm: A Traffic Stop at Elm and Sunset resulted in Joshua Smithson of Jefferson being cited for, “Fail to Wear Safety Belt.”
6:22pm: An officer assisted a motorist with mechanical problems in the 200 Block of North Mulberry Street.
6:55pm: Boys Town requested a Welfare Check on a juvenile male at 402 North Vine Street. The officer made contact with the juvenile and a parent and learned he was fine.
7:19pm: A caller advised of a suspicious vehicle in the 600 Block of North Chestnut Street. The officer located the vehicle and spoke to the driver, who was living in the area.
9:54pm: An officer checked on a 911 Hang Up Call from 607 South Locust Street. The subject was fine, just having phone issues.
10:00pm: A Traffic Stop in the 400 Block of East Madison Street resulted in Lathan Davis of
Churdan being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
11:09pm: A Traffic Stop at Lincoln Way and Elm Streets resulted in Ryan McCauley of Bayard being cited for, “Driving While Suspended and Fail to Obey Stop Sign.”
Friday, May 10th
12:14am: An officer assisted with a Life Line Activation in the 600 Block of South Chestnut Street.
1:46am: An Open Door was located by the officer at 1002 North Cedar Street. The officer secured the building.
4:35am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical call in the 1000 Block of West Adams Street.
9:39am: A motorist advised the officer of a possible Intoxicated Subject walking around near the Bell Tower. The officer made contact with the male in the vicinity of the Bell Tower and spoke with him. The male was not intoxicated, but did have an Outstanding Greene County Arrest Warrant for, “Fail to Appear” on an Original Charge of “Theft 4th Degree.” The officer arrested Richard Lee Norton Jr, 39 of Panora on the warrants and transported him to the jail.
9:53am: A Heart & Solutions Councilor spoke with an officer about concerns with a male juvenile in Jefferson. The youth had made very troubling statements during a session. The officers made contact with the juvenile male and transported him to ER for a medical evaluation by a doctor.
10:20am: Tammy Binkley spoke with an officer concerning a Civil Child Custody Issue occurring at 802 West Lincoln Way Street.
12:08pm: Tiffany Kersey Johnson reported unwanted contact from a known female in the 100 Block of East Lincoln Way Street. The officer made contact with the female, who advised she would end the contact.
1:14pm: Patricia Coleman spoke with an officer concerning a Property Line Issue occurring at 1001 North Cedar Street.
4:45pm: An officer assisted a DHS Case Worker with the removal of a child from his father’s custody at 402 North Vine Street.
6:58pm: Scott Weber advised of a dog running loose near Westwood and Lincoln Way Streets. The animal was picked up by its owner as the officer responded to the area.
8:20pm: Kathi Hoskinson requested an officer to check on a Suspicious Male walking around the Jefferson Little League Complex. The officer spoke with the male, who was looking for his keys he had lost in the area.
8:57pm: An officer investigated a Backing Accident in the 100 Block of East Madison Street. A 1995 Ford Escort, owned by David Goin of Jefferson, was parked on the street. A vehicle backed into the Goin vehicle and left the area. The Goin vehicle had received $200.00 in damages to the driver’s side. The officer spoke to witnesses and later located the other vehicle involved in the accident at the residence of 402 South Georgia Street. The officer spoke to the owner, who advised he was the other vehicle involved. The 1998 Chevrolet C2500, owned
and operated by Nathan Merrill of Jefferson, was undamaged. The officer has requested Arrest Warrant for Merrill for, “Driving While Revoked – Serious, Operating Without Required Interlock Device – Simple, and Unsafe Backing Upon a Highway – Simple.”
9:23pm: A caller advised of a Possible Intoxicated Driver leaving the casino at 777 Wild Rose Lane. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle in the area.
9:30pm: An officer assisted Jefferson Fire at HyVee, located at 106 West Washington Street, after an evacuation of the building due to smoke. The fire department could not find the source of the smoke, but did not locate any fire.
9:51pm: Heidi Miller reported her vehicle had become stuck in the mud while parked near the Jefferson Little League Complex. She advised the vehicle would be removed the following day.
Saturday, May 11th
8:07am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 600 Block of South Chestnut Street.
11:52am: A caller advised of the smell of natural gas near the Skatepark. The officer checked the area and did not locate any odors.
12:12pm: Kristina McDonald reported an Intoxicated Male had just left her residence at 609 East Adams Street and possibly had a loaded handgun in the vehicle. The subject was later located in Guthrie County.
2:32pm: Janon Olson reported she believed a male had been in her residence at 606 North Olive Street. The officer did not locate anyone in the residence.
5:45pm: Gary Hall turned in a stack of credit cards he had located at 108 North Elm Street. The officer returned the items to the owner.
10:47pm: Abby Binkley reported her small dog had escaped form 606 West Harrison Street. The officer did not locate the animal.
Sunday, May 12th
4:33pm: A Traffic Stop in the 800 Block of East Lincoln Way Street resulted in Kelsey Stringer of Jefferson being cited for, “Driving While Suspended.”
6:03pm: Jackie Cram reported a stray dog at 106 West Washington Street. The animal had made its way home before the officer arrived. The officer spoke to the animal’s owner, who advised it got out of his residence when his wife walked to HyVee.
8:04pm: An officer spoke to two juvenile males after catching them on the roof of the Shelter House at Russell Park. The two were warned about the incident by the officer.
8:27pm: Dorena Wilson reported a possible sick raccoon at 2 park Ave. South. The animal had gone back into the wooded area before the officer arrived.
10:32pm: An officer checked on a Business Alarm Activation at 106 West Washington Street. All was fine at the business.
