Don’t forget, the third annual Perry Fiber Art Fair is happening throughout the day today, and the public is encouraged to see the unique medium in action.

The Fair is a part of Art on the Prairie, and it will be hosted primarily at La Poste. There will be 16 artists and demonstrators taking part this year, which organizer Jenny Eklund says is a record for the event. There will also be quilting demonstrations conducted by the Perry Piecemakers Guild at Ben’s Five and Dime, with sessions at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Other locations taking part in some way include Hotel Pattee, Mary Rose Collection, and Betsy Peterson Designs. Additionally, there are around 115 light poles and benches that are covered in warmers created by volunteers, an assortment of colorful hula-hoops on the wall in Prairie Lane, and quilt art in Josh Davis Plaza.

All activities and demonstrations are free to attend, though there will be items available for purchase. The festivities will run from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. To learn more about the 2019 Perry Fiber Art Fair, listen to yesterday’s Perry Fareway Let’s Talk Dallas County program at RaccoonValleyRadio.com.
