A reminder that today is Market-to-Market Relay Iowa.

About 350 seven-person teams will be running on the Raccoon River Valley Trail for 75-miles, starting in downtown Jefferson and ending in downtown Des Moines. The first wave of runners began at 5:45am and the last wave takes-off around 8:45. There will be 18 exchange points along the route on the trail.

Due to the safety of the runners in Jefferson, Lincoln Way from Chestnut Street to the trailhead is closed until after 8:45. This is the 7th year of the event, which is sponsored by Pink Gorilla Events. About 2,800 people will be briefly in Jefferson before ending up in Des Moines.
