The Greene County boys’ and girls’ track teams had a combined ten events that automatically qualified for the State Track Meet Friday night.
The Rams traveled to Panora after having their meet postponed, like all others across the state, from Thursday to Friday due to weather conditions. The girls’ team had three automatic qualifiers in all team events including: 4×100 and 4×200 meter relays and the 800 sprint medley relay. The boys’ team had seven events automatically qualify to state. Colby Kafer qualified in the 200 meters and long jump; Tyler Miller qualified in the shot put and discus; and Carter Morton qualified three events with the 110 meter hurdles, 400 meter hurdles and high jump.
To automatically qualify, you had to be one of the top two finishers. The rest of the qualifiers are being calculated today, so listen to tomorrow’s sportscast on the Raccoon Valley Radio Network to hear the full list of qualifiers for the state meet. The State Track Meet will take be at Drake University May 16th through the 18th.
