The Adel Public Library is hosting an assortment of after school events tomorrow, available to kids throughout the area.

Tomorrow marks the last early out of the school year for students at Adel-DeSoto-Minburn, and the library is jumping at the opportunity to give children some fun activities to take advantage of their free time. At 2 p.m., elementary and preschool students are invited to make Mother’s Day cards in the kids area, while tweens and teens will be able to celebrate Mexican culture with a Cinco de Mayo party. At 2:30, the groups will come together for a free movie, “A Dog’s Way Home,” on the big screen in the community room. The showing is being sponsored by the Adel Vet Clinic, and there will be free snacks provided. The film is rated PG and has a runtime of 97 minutes.

Finally, teens aged 14 and older who are interested in taking part in some volunteer opportunities this summer can attend the annual teen volunteering meeting, which will start at 3 p.m. All activities hosted by the Adel Library are free to attend and no registration is required. To learn more about these and other upcoming events, stop into the library or visit their website, AdelPL.org.
