Don’t forget: U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders will be in Perry this afternoon for a town hall event, as he continues his campaign for President of the United States.
The Senator from Vermont will make an appearance at the McCreary Community Building at 3 p.m., where he will outline his platform and answer questions from the public. This is his second trip to Iowa since declaring his intent to seek the Democratic nomination for President, and it’s his first stop in Dallas County. Sanders came in second in the 2016 Iowa Caucuses, and is once again considered a front-runner in the crowded Democratic field. He’s one of 20 other individuals currently seeking the nomination, the third so far to visit Perry ahead of the 2020 Caucuses, and the sixth to visit Dallas County.
Former Maryland Congressman John Delaney and current Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren have already held events in Perry, Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard and California businessman Andrew Yang made appearances at the Dallas County Democratic Party fundraiser in Adel, and New Jersey Senator Cory Booker visited Waukee. Former Texas Congressman Beto O’Rourke also has a meet and greet scheduled Tuesday morning in Adel. The Sanders town hall event is free and open to the public, though RSVPs are recommended. Entrance and seating will be first-come, first served. To RSVP, click the link below.
