The Perry boys track team placed 8th Thursday in the running of the Raccoon River Conference championships.  Kaleb Olejniczak led Perry with a pair of second place finishes in the 200 and 400 meter runs.  Kato Dougan took 3rd in the 100 meter dash while Bryan Funez placed 8th in the 800.  Head coach Ben Coy was pleased with the high number of season best performances.

“The boys competed very well. We had some individuals step up for us tonight such as Kaleb Olejniczak who ran two PR’s tonight. Hayden McFarland is another that comes to mind. The coaching staff asked him to come back and run the 800 in the Distance Medley after running a big PR split in the 4×800 which is tough to do with the short amount of time in between the events and because of that we were able to score a couple extra points. As a team we were seeded to get 38 points and ended up with 46 points.”
We also had a total of 12 season best times or PR’s tonight:
Cole Snyder, Discus
Luke Holtorf, Shot Put
Justin Stammer, 100
Kaleb Olejniczak, 200 & 400
Joseph Clark, 200
