A Jamaica man was sentenced this week to 10 years in prison for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a class C felony.

Guthrie County Attorney Brenna Bird says 53-year-old David Anthony Moore’s drug charge was dropped from a class B felony and two other charges were dismissed through a voluntary plea agreement. The charges stem from a March incident in which a search warrant was executed for Moore and his roommates Issac Moore and Andrea Lynn Willey. Baggies of marijuana and meth, a digital scale, and smoking devices were found. Moore is also ordered to pay court costs, and surcharges. The court found that Moore did not have the ability to pay attorney’s fees. The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, and Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation assisted in the investigation. Issac’s and Willey’s cases are still ongoing.
