On Monday night, the ADM Boys’ Soccer team traveled to Nevada to take on the Cubs. The weather on Monday night was perfect. The end result of the game wasn’t so perfect for Tigers fans, as ADM dropped the contest by the score of 3-4.
ADM started the game hot with a goal in the first eight minutes of action with a goal scored by Josh Pike on an assist from Maddox Artzer. Just twenty minutes later, ADM took a 2-0 solid lead into the intermission when a second goal was scored by Wade Forret.
The Tigers dominated the Cubs in the first frame, but the second half was a completely different story. Nevada scored their first goal just five minutes into the second half and slicing ADM’s lead in half, as the Tigers led 2-1, at that point.
Six minutes after the first goal for Nevada, ADM was awarded a penalty which allowed Justin Annear to step up and knock the ball through the net, and giving ADM a commanding 3-1 lead in the second half.
The game appeared to be over, but Nevada stepped up their intensity and ADM couldn’t match it. The Cubs scored two unanwered goals in the final minutes to knot the score at 3 a piece.
ADM ended up falling victim in a double overtime thriller at Nevada 3-4. A disappointing loss for the Tigers, who are now 8-4.
ADM will look to rebound on Friday when they face Winterset in Earlham at 7:00.
