The Greene County School Board met in special session Monday.
The Board ratified the 2.6-percent total package increase for the 2019-2020 school year with the Greene County Education Association for teachers and coaches, with Board member Steve Fisher abstaining, due to his wife working in the district as a teacher. The increase is a total cost of $204,188 to the district’s general fund.
The Board also approved the 2019-2020 employment contract list, with the exception of Melanie Rechkemmer’s position. It was recommended by Superintendent Tim Christensen that her position be reduced to half-time. The Board will discuss it at their next regular meeting on May 15th.
The Board also approved three resignations including bus driver Jeff Kienast, middle school building technology assistant Rona Challen and middle school special education teacher Lori Blumberg. Finally, the Board tabled their decision on terminating an employment contract, based on the recommendation from Christensen.
