The Drake Relays got underway Thursday with three Panorama athletes participating on day one.
Lydia Knapp represented the Panthers in the first of six events that include Panorama girls. The senior took third place in the discus with a throw of 135-1, finishing behind throwers from Tipton and South Hardin.
In the girls long jump, Bailey Beckman’s first leap was her best. The senior’s mark of 16-10.75 resulted in a 10th place finish.
Gracen Welberg was the lone boys qualifier for Panorama, but it wasn’t his day. He successfully cleared the opening mark of 6’1″, but was unable to make it at 6’3″.
Morgan Johnk is representing the Lady Panthers on Friday in both the high jump and 100-meter hurdles. Two Panorama relay teams will run on Saturday.
