The ACGC track and field teams resumed their 2019 schedule Tuesday with a trip to Audubon for the Wheeler Relays. The boys team finished in 4th and the girls placed 6th.
On the boys side, senior Noah Nelsen grabbed a pair of golds, sweeping the 1600 and 3200 meter runs. Nelsen ran below ten minutes for just the second time this season in the later race, finishing with a time of 9:59.82. He also took 3rd in the 800. Classmate Dylan Soper grabbed a pair of silvers for the Chargers, placing 2nd in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Other top-five finishes for the boys included: distance medley relay (3rd), 4×800 relay (3rd), junior Quynton Younker (4th-shot put; 5th-discus), and junior Austin Wierick (4th-400 meter dash).
Junior Kate Crawford took another title in the 800 meter run. Senior Madison McDermott also grabbed a silver in the discus. The other silver for the girls came in the 4×800 meter relay with Crawford, senior Lauryn Embleton, and sophomores Audrey Stowe and Rylee Sloss. Other top-five finishes for the girls included: freshman Chloe Largent (3rd-high jump), sprint medley relay (4th), distance medley relay (4th), Sloss (5th-1500), junior Jackie Trujillo-Garcia (5th-3000), and Stowe (5th-400 meter hurdles).
The boys finished with 67 team points and the girls accumulated 48. Underwood and Panorama were the team champions with 136 and 152 points respectively. The Charger relays are scheduled for tomorrow afternoon in Guthrie Center. To view a complete list of results, click on the link below:
