The Panorama golf teams will be back on the course today hosting Des Moines Christian and Woodward Granger at Lake Panorama National Golf Club.
Both teams just played on Tuesday as they took on Earlham and West Central Valley at Sugar Creek Golf Club. The boys won that triangular with a team score and school record of 144 while the girls were victorious with a team total of 202. Today’s competition tees off at 4 p.m.
Meanwhile the Panorama girls track and field team will be traveling to Underwood today. That’s a new addition to the schedule to replace last week’s ACGC girls invite that got canceled because of weather. The Lady Panthers last competed as a full team on Monday when they topped the team standings at Van Meter.
Two Panorama girls were able to compete at DCG on Tuesday with big results to show for it. Senior Bailey Beckman broke her own school record in long jump on Tuesday with a distance of 17’8.5″. That ranks her no. 2 in the state in Class 2A and meets the standard to automatically qualify for next week’s Drake Relays. Morgan Johnk improved her season best in the high jump to 5’3.25″ on Tuesday. Coach Greg Thompson says that should be good enough to qualify for Drake.
