Jefferson Matters: Main Street’s Tower View Team has been constructing its latest alleyway project.

Arch Alley is a collaboration project with artist David Williamson drawing inspiration from arches of the buildings in downtown Jefferson. He also received input from various groups of people to create three distinctive archway designs that are being welded together with metal and will be placed in the north alleyway of the downtown square. Recently, TVT received a Greene County Community Foundation grant of $2,589, coupled with a donation of $1,200 from the Jefferson High School Class of 1967 to install a bronze plaque with the poem “Arcs” in the entryway of the alley.

The project previously received a Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation grant last year of over $52,000 toward the project, with a substantial match from Home State Bank. Anyone can still be apart of the project by purchasing a $20 button with “I’m a Part of the Arch” from any TVT member or at the Main Street Office.

The project is expected to be completed by this fall.
