Tuesday, April 16th

2:00am: A Traffic Stop was performed in the 300 Block of West Central Avenue with a speeding vehicle. During the stop, the male driver began complaining of chest pains. The GC Ambulance Service was called to the scene and transported the male to ER for evaluation. Bruce Powell of OK. was cited for, “Fail to Have a Valid Driver’s License and Excessive Speed.”

2:55am: Miranda Paris reported a car alarm sounding in the 300 Block of East Vest Street. The officer contacted the vehicle owner, who disarmed the alarm.

11:06am: An officer performed a Funeral Escort.

2:45pm: An officer investigated a Backing Accident in the parking lot at 104 North Locust Street. Dennis Jordan of Jefferson was backing his 2004 Buick Lesabre in the lot and struck a parked vehicle. The 2007 GMC Sierra was owned by Lisa Brant of Rippey. The Brant vehicle suffered a reported $500.00 in damages. The Jordan vehicle was not damaged.

2:45pm: The GCMC ER requested an officer at 1000 West Lincoln Way Street. a male patient had been advised by the doctor he can no longer safely drive a vehicle. He was refusing to cooperate and was going to drive away. The officer provided the mala a ride to his residence in Jefferson.

4:06pm: An officer responded to the west alley of the 100 Block of South Wilson Avenue for a reported argument occurring. The officer made contact with a juvenile couple, who had been involved in a verbal argument. The two were split up and parents were contacted by the officer to advise them of the issue.

10:36pm: An officer was sitting and running radar in the 1700 Block of North Elm Street. As the officer sat there in his vehicle, a male walked passed his location walking northbound on the shoulder. The officer exited his vehicle and attempted to speak to the male and identify him. The male advised he did not need assistance and began to run northbound. The officer ran after the subject briefly, but ended the foot pursuit as no crimes had been committed. The subject dropped a bag while running away. The officer collected the bag and has placed it in Lost & Found at the LEC.

******** An officer has requested Arrest Warrants after completing an investigation that began on 04/10/2019 into a “Violation of a Protective Order.” Warrants were requested for Tyler James Smits, 26 of Jefferson for, “Harassment 1st Degree – Aggravated and Violation of a Protective Order – Simple.”
