Everyone who is at least 18-years-old is invited to a special fundraiser in Jefferson.
The Greene County School District is partnering with New Way Ford for the Drive 4 UR School event. New Way Ford will have several vehicles at the high school parking lot for people to take a test drive. New Way Ford will donate $20 to the Greene County Activities Department for every test drive. New Way Ford Sales Manager Mike McLaughlin Jr. says there’s no purchase commitment for test driving a vehicle and those who participate can also enter a drawing to win a two night, three day trip for two people to either Las Vegas or Orlando. McLaughlin Jr. explains why they wanted to help out the local school district.
“It’s good for the school (district). They always need money for programs that they’re offering and Ford likes to help back with the community. And this is a great way to show your support to the community and for Ford to show their support as well.”
Greene County School District Superintendent Tim Christensen hopes that lots of people can take advantage of New Way Ford’s generosity.
“(It’s an) Opportunity to get some funds from outside of Greene County, outside of the state of Iowa from corporate Ford into Greene County. And it’s a great opportunity for the Greene County Activities Department to get some funding here if people take advantage of this opportunity and take a vehicle for a test drive.”
The test drives are limited to one per household and it will be held during the home varsity high school track and field meet on Monday, April 15th from 4:30 to 7:30pm.
