Coach Heath Telleen’s largely inexperienced Greene County boys’ golf team lost at the Huxley Country Club to Ballard on Tuesday by a nine hole score of 180-212. The Rams were led by Jadon Block at 45, good for a second place tie, but he lost in runner-up medalist race on a tiebreaker. Other scores counting in the team total were 53 from Sawyer Schiltz and 55 each from Cody Gilbertson and Jacob Rohner.
Ballard had five players shoot between 44 and 47 and were led by Kade Miller.
Coach Tellen called the match a good learning experience for his young team. “We are learning how to bounce back from adversity. If we can eliminate some of our big numbers through better course management, we can start to see our scored drop.”
