Youngsters in Jefferson will get the opportunity to celebrate “prom” a bit early before their high school years.
The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a new Pre-School Prom event for girls and boys three- to six-years-old. It will be at the Greene County Community Center this Friday from 5:30 to 8:30pm. Musical entertainment will be provided by Andrew Woodley and Meythaler Photography will be taking pictures. JPRD Director Vicky Lautner says Assistant Director Emily Vander Wilt came up with the idea for the new event.
“So it’s the week after (the Greene County High School) prom. And Teresa Green (the Junior Class Advisor) said we could borrow their decorations, so we’ll use the same theme as the (high school) prom does. And then just make it a fun time for the little ones.”
The cost to attend is $20 per child. Pre-registration is encouraged. Call 386-3412 or stop by the community center to sign up.
